Rehearsal:
2009 - Super 8 Film transferred to DVD- 1 min 30 secs

Instead of viewing a collectively practiced togetherness Rehearsal looks in upon a single person who leaves her makeshift community each morning to practice a group formation in complete solitude. The temptation to merely memorize an improvised group movement self-consciously misses the point of true cooperation. The movements seen here are direct translations (for the human form) of the formations of a flock of starlings. Acting alone as one, out of what should have been a much larger group, proved to be confusing and disorienting. Without the structure of a group the movements felt completely arbitrary and were nearly impossible to remember.
