Alone Together I-IV was a remote group performance that anyone could participate in during Mar. 2009. A stack of performance instructions sat in the gallery during the exhibt that this piece was a part of. Visitors were allowed to take a set of instructions and were encouraged to participate in this remote group performance. I had no way of knowing who, if anyone, participated. There was a certain vulnerabilty in this disconnected interaction. I hoped that at the same time, 3pm on Saturdays during Mar. 2009, many people were remotely connected by participating in the same set of movements, as listed on the cards...but not knowing was a big part of the process for me.
